The Alfa Romeo Alfa 6 (Type 119, also Alfa Sei) is an executive car produced by Alfa Romeo from 1979 to 1986, its name referring to the six cylinders of the Alfa Romeo V6 that first appeared on this car. It was the flagship of the range on its launch in 1979, with a fairly conventional four-door body similar in style to the Alfetta, with which it shares a great number of parts; design work was done before the Alfetta, but the 1973 fuel crisis delayed development and led to the belated debut, and the drag coefficient was 0.41. Power came from an all-new 2.5-litre V6 generating 158 PS at 5,600 rpm using six carburettors and a single belt-driven camshaft in each cylinder head, and power steering, power windows, central locking, electric mirrors and a 25% limited-slip differential were standard. The engine and gearbox were at the front with a De Dion tube at the rear, four disc brakes with the rear ones inboard, and the ZF hydraulic power steering was the first fitted to an Alfa Romeo. In 1983 the car was revamped with single rectangular headlights, new bumpers, grille and rear-light trim, and the troublesome six carburettors were replaced by Bosch L-Jetronic fuel injection with power remaining at 158 PS, along with two new engines: a 2.0-litre V6 specific to the Italian market, where larger engines were heavily taxed, and a 2.5 litre VM five-cylinder turbodiesel. A total of 12,070 were made; the Bertone Delfino concept of 1983 was based on an Alfa 6.

The 600 was a stopgap: the P50's body over the 601's mechanicals, and for a while its estate was built alongside the new 601 saloon.
