The E13 Note actually shrank versus its predecessor — 55mm shorter overall — yet Nissan still made the body 30% stiffer using ultra-high-tensile steel.

The E12 Note's tiny 1.2-litre DIG-S engine used a supercharger to match the performance of a 1.5-litre — reportedly Nissan's first-ever supercharged production model.

Near the end of its run, Nissan quietly built Russian-market Notes without the seatbelt pretensioners still listed on the contract — buyers only discovered it was missing when they pulled the seats out.
