The Mk5 Polo GTI was presented with the CrossPolo at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2010 and sold from the end of May 2010, with a lowered sports suspension and an extended electronic limited-slip differential. The 2010–2013 cars used a 1.4-litre engine with both a turbocharger and a supercharger and a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox; with the 2014 facelift it was replaced by a 1.8 TSI turbo with a six-speed manual or seven-speed DSG.
