FactPagani had HWA AG build the Huayra R's V12 from scratch, a naturally aspirated engine revving to 9,000 rpm.
The Huayra R, introduced in March 2021, is a track-only Huayra and the successor to the Zonda R. It uses the "Pagani V12-R", a 6.0-litre naturally aspirated V12 built from scratch by HWA AG that makes 850 PS and revs to 9,000 rpm, with a newly developed 6-speed sequential gearbox and a dry weight of 1,050 kg. Pagani planned 30 cars at €2.6 million plus taxes. The longtail, open-top Huayra R Evo Roadster was unveiled in February 2024.

The Huayra Tricolore carries a nose-mounted Pitot tube, borrowed styling from the jets of Italy's Frecce Tricolori display team.

Its exhaust has flaps that divert gases over the underfloor like a Formula 1 blown diffuser, and production was limited to 40.

The track-only Huayra R that arrived in 2021 wasn't just a harder Huayra — Pagani built it as the direct successor to the legendary Zonda R.

This open Pagani weighs less than the closed Huayra it's based on, the first roadster ever to pull that off.

Pagani named the Huayra BC after Benny Caiola, the first man who ever bought a Pagani.

Pagani named this car after a Quechua wind god, then let Mercedes-AMG build the V12 that powers it.
