The Huayra is a mid-engine sports car that superseded the Zonda, named after Wayra Tata, the Quechua wind god. It was revealed in a press release on 25 January 2011 and debuted at Pirelli's Milan headquarters in February 2011. A 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged M158 V12 developed by Mercedes-AMG for the car drives the rear wheels through a seven-speed single-clutch gearbox, and four active flaps vary its drag and downforce. It was limited to 100 units under Pagani's agreement with Mercedes-AMG, and Top Gear named it Hypercar of the Year 2012.

The one-off Huayra Epitome, introduced in July 2024, has an AMG-sourced 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 making 852 hp, with a seven-speed manual gearbox.

Pagani sold all five Codalunga before it ever showed the car publicly, each for over seven million euros plus tax.

Pagani had HWA AG build the Huayra R's V12 from scratch, a naturally aspirated engine revving to 9,000 rpm.

The Huayra Tricolore carries a nose-mounted Pitot tube, borrowed styling from the jets of Italy's Frecce Tricolori display team.

Its exhaust has flaps that divert gases over the underfloor like a Formula 1 blown diffuser, and production was limited to 40.

The track-only Huayra R that arrived in 2021 wasn't just a harder Huayra — Pagani built it as the direct successor to the legendary Zonda R.

This open Pagani weighs less than the closed Huayra it's based on, the first roadster ever to pull that off.

Pagani named the Huayra BC after Benny Caiola, the first man who ever bought a Pagani.

The 228's coupe styling hides a sedan underneath: Maserati stretched it onto the longer four-door Biturbo chassis to make room for its biggest V6, which is literally where the name comes from — 2-door, 2.8 litre.

Switching to fuel injection let this V8 finally shed its trademark bonnet bulge — and only 405 of these flat-hooded Series 5 cars were built before the whole model retired in 1989.

An American tuner, Callaway Cars, built twin-turbo conversions of the GTV6 that boosted its V6 by fifty percent to 230 hp — turning Alfa's grand tourer into something far quicker than the factory ever intended.
