The current Mazda Flair is the rebadged sixth-generation Suzuki Wagon R, launched in Japan on 1 February 2017 on the HEARTECT platform with an upgraded integrated starter-generator mild-hybrid system. Engines are the 658 cc R06A (to 2020), the R06D (from 2020) and the R06A turbo (2017–2025), with a CVT or a 5-speed manual. The Wagon R had a facelift in August 2022 and a significant one in December 2025, when the turbo was dropped.
