FactHolden built only 581 Barina Cabrios, converted in Victoria by Holden Special Vehicles, some later exported to Britain as Vauxhall Corsas.
The third generation SB Barina was based on the Opel Corsa B and imported from Spain, released in April 1994 as a three- or five-door hatchback with 1.2- and 1.4-litre four-cylinder engines and a 1.6-litre for the sporty range-topping GSi (C16XE from 1994, the X16XE from early 1995 and X16SE from 1997). The August 1997 update brought multipoint fuel injection across the range and suspension upgrades to improve ride and handling, and can be identified by half body coloured bumpers, a three-bar grille and updated trim and badging. The special edition Lambada of 1997 was limited to 500 cars and added a sunroof, 14 inch alloys, body coloured bumpers and power steering over the City it was based on, in Casablanca White, Atlantis Blue or Mint Green. From November 1997 until late 2000 Holden sold the Barina Cabrio soft top convertible (only 581 sold), based on the City three-door, built in Spain like the rest of the SB lineup and converted at Clayton, Victoria through Holden Special Vehicles (HSV); a small number were exported to the United Kingdom in 1998–1999 as the Vauxhall Corsa. The final cars were built in 2000, but sales continued into 2001 until the XC arrived; the 2008 Used Car Safety Ratings assessed the SB as providing "average" protection.

Owning one
We don’t estimate running costs for a car like this. What it costs depends on its condition, its specialist and how it is driven, and an average would mislead.
