FactFiat handed this Uno's design to Brazil, not Turin: the 'Novo Uno' (Type 327) was engineered in Brazil and only co-designed with Fiat's Italian studio, not the other way around.
The Uno name was revived in 2010 for the Brazilian-built "Novo Uno" (Type 327), engineered in Brazil and co-designed with Fiat's Centro Stile in Turin — a more urban interpretation of the Panda style on a Palio platform (FCA Economy), larger and roomier than the first Uno but smaller and cheaper than the second — sold in Brazil and other South American countries but never in Europe. It launched with a 1.0 Fire Evo (74 hp) and a 1.4 Fire Evo (87 hp), both flex-fuel, with a 5-speed manual or Dualogic semi-automatic; in December 2013 the Uno-based Fiorino panel van followed, in September 2014 a facelift added Start & Stop to the 1.4, and in 2016 another facelift introduced the FireFly 1.0 (three-cylinder) and 1.3 engines. In 2018 the Way and Sporting trims and their GSR semi-automatic versions were dropped for a base "Drive" and the "Attractive" (the Way returned in mid-2018 with both engines); in 2021 it reverted to the old 1.0 Fire Evo of 73/75 PS in the Attractive only, and production ended at the end of 2021 with the 250-unit Uno Ciao limited edition. Fiat Brazil built 4,379,356 Unos in all across all generations; a 2011 Latin NCAP test rated the Brazilian Uno one star for adult occupants (zero stars in 2013).

Owning one
We don’t estimate running costs for a car like this. What it costs depends on its condition, its specialist and how it is driven, and an average would mislead.

Brazil's Uno Mille hid its spare tyre inside the engine bay, borrowing the trick from the old Fiat 147, purely to free up extra boot space for luggage.

Fiat's cheap-and-cheerful Uno had a genuine giant-killer hiding in the range — the Turbo i.e. hit 205 km/h, making it one of the fastest hot hatches of the whole 1980s.

Japan was a minor market for the Swift: when it passed 2 million sales in 2011, about 39% were in India and 27% in Europe, against roughly 15% at home.

To adapt the Horizon for America, Chrysler bought nearly 100 Volkswagen Rabbits purely to reverse engineer them.

The Mk3 Focus RS's AWD system could send 100 percent of engine power to the rear wheels alone — built not in Ford's home country, but at the Saarlouis plant in Germany.

In June 2003, a Mégane II became the subject of the first ever live televised crash test with a real human driver at the wheel instead of a dummy — filmed by Top Gear.

This Wagon R redesigned its rear doors specifically to kill off the D-pillar — bigger doors with built-in quarter glass solved what earlier generations needed a whole extra pillar for.

The BX was the UK's best-selling diesel car for four years from 1987, and 2,315,739 were built in all.

Built to use up Chrysler-Simca's parts bin, it took its engine and gearbox straight from the front-wheel-drive Simca 1100 but mounted them amidships instead.
