FactThe LeMans was a double first for South Korea: one of its earliest aerodynamically-styled cars, and the first sold there with a digital dashboard.
The Daewoo LeMans is a compact car first manufactured by Daewoo in South Korea from July 1986, a badge-engineered Opel Kadett E on the GM T platform (the Daewoo Maepsy-Na was its predecessor) and sold as the Pontiac LeMans in the USA and New Zealand, the Asüna GT/SE and Passport Optima in Canada, the Daewoo 1.5i in Australia, the Daewoo Fantasy in Thailand, the Daewoo Pointer and Daewoo Racer. It was one of the first aerodynamically designed cars sold in South Korea and the first with a digital dashboard; the three-door hatchback got swing-out rear windows on all but the cheapest models, and the five-door used the sedan's rear doors and sloping C-pillars. Sales in North America began in mid-1987, and petrol engines were the 1.5 L G15CF/SF/MF and A15MF fours, a 1.5 L G15LF LPG (taxi), 1.6 L L73 and G16SF fours and a 2.0 L C20LZ (LT2), with 4- and 5-speed manuals or a 3-speed automatic. The page gives no per-engine years.

Owning one
We don’t estimate running costs for a car like this. What it costs depends on its condition, its specialist and how it is driven, and an average would mislead.
