FactThe Nexia was riding on a platform already over a decade old when it launched in Britain — and it still became one of the country's most popular budget family cars.
The second-generation LeMans, the Daewoo Cielo (sold as the Nexia in European markets, and as the Heaven, Pointer, Racer and, in Uzbekistan, the Chevrolet Nexia), was launched in May 1994 and made in South Korea until February 1997 (Vietnam 1995–2002, Egypt 1996–2008, Romania 1996–2007, Iran 1996–2004, Uzbekistan 1996–2016) as a mechanically identical, restyled LeMans still based on the Opel Kadett E "T-car" platform, in three- and five-door hatchback and four-door sedan forms (never a wagon), with a 1.5-litre eight-valve or 16-valve engine. Trim levels varied by market (Europe's "Lifestyle", Spain and Portugal's "Chess", the Benelux GLi/GLXi with ETi and STi). The GLi had average performance with 0–100 km/h in 12.5 seconds and 80 PS at 5,400 rpm, a single-point-injection version made 70 PS, and the 16-valve GLXi 90 PS at an unusually low 4,800 rpm with 0–100 km/h in 12.2 seconds. It was made in India by DCM Daewoo until the parent went bankrupt, and replaced by the Lanos and Nubira.

Owning one
We don’t estimate running costs for a car like this. What it costs depends on its condition, its specialist and how it is driven, and an average would mislead.

Japan was a minor market for the Swift: when it passed 2 million sales in 2011, about 39% were in India and 27% in Europe, against roughly 15% at home.

To adapt the Horizon for America, Chrysler bought nearly 100 Volkswagen Rabbits purely to reverse engineer them.

The Mk3 Focus RS's AWD system could send 100 percent of engine power to the rear wheels alone — built not in Ford's home country, but at the Saarlouis plant in Germany.

In June 2003, a Mégane II became the subject of the first ever live televised crash test with a real human driver at the wheel instead of a dummy — filmed by Top Gear.
