Sold in the US as the Scion iA, it was the brand's only four-door sedan and the only Scion not built in Japan.
Mazda built this generation of the 2 in Mexico, then refused to sell it in the US or Canada under its own name — Toyota badged it instead, first as the Scion iA and later as the Toyota Yaris.
China got a sunroof nobody else could order: the Chinese-built Mazda2 was the only market worldwide offered one on this generation.
European Mazda2s took their pedal box straight from the Ford Fiesta and had their own 4x108 wheel bolt pattern instead of 4x100.
