Each generation deals in its rarity tier’s alloy with its engine disc, lead specs, and first spotter record. Click into any generation for full trims and market figures.

Its gear selector is five buttons, not a lever, reviving a push-button setup Mercury, Chrysler and Packard used in the late 1950s.

The MKX name got Lincoln sued before the car even launched: Honda thought it sounded too close to Acura's rival MDX and took Ford to court in January 2006, a case eventually settled out of court.

The MKX's optional headlights physically pivoted left and right as the driver turned the wheel.
