The fifth-generation Santa Fe's boxy sheet metal was styled around a motif Hyundai calls 'H-Tetris,' visible in the stacked rectangular lighting elements front and rear.

This Santa Fe generation changed underneath itself mid-run: the 2021 facelift switched to an entirely new N3 platform just so Hyundai could finally offer hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions.

This generation split the Santa Fe in two: the short-wheelbase model was badged Santa Fe Sport in the US and Canada, while everywhere else it just stayed Santa Fe.

This CM-generation Santa Fe was the first Santa Fe ever built on US soil, rolling off the line at Hyundai's new Montgomery, Alabama plant on 18 April 2006.

One Santa Fe paint colour was so unloved that owners nicknamed it "Yucky Green" — Hyundai quietly dropped Pine Green from the lineup for the 2003 model year.
