The Volkswagen Fox is a subcompact car produced and designed by Volkswagen of Brazil and sold in Latin America from 2003 until 2021 (and in Europe 2005–2011), as a 3-door and 5-door hatchback, on Volkswagen Group's PQ24 platform shared with the fourth-generation Polo. In Latin America it sat between the low-cost Gol and the Polo; in Mexico it was called the Lupo (after then-president Vicente Fox) until dropped after a short run of 2009 models in favour of the Novo Gol. The new 2010 Fox was revealed in Brazil in October 2009 and later in Argentina, and restyled again in 2014. There is also a mini SUV version, the Fox Xtreme (before 2017 the CrossFox), front-wheel drive only with mixed-use tyres, a slightly raised suspension and a spare tyre on the outside of the trunk. Engines are 1.2 L I3, 1.4 L I4 and 1.6 L I4 petrol, 1.0 L I4 and 1.6 L I4 petrol/ethanol and a 1.4 L I3 diesel, with a 5-speed manual or 5-speed ASG; wheelbase 2,465 mm (97.0 in), length 3,805 mm (149.8 in) 2005–08 and 3,823 mm (150.5 in) 2009–2021, width 1,640 mm (64.6 in), height 1,545 mm (60.8 in). In its most basic Latin American configuration with two airbags it received 4 stars for adult occupants and 2 for infants from Latin NCAP 1.0 in 2015. The page gives no power figures for the Latin American engines, so none are entered.

Owning one
We don’t estimate running costs for a car like this. What it costs depends on its condition, its specialist and how it is driven, and an average would mislead.
