The Škoda Scala is a small family car or compact hatchback (C-segment) manufactured by Škoda Auto, intended to fit between the Fabia and the Octavia. It was unveiled in December 2018 (the official premiere was held on 6 December 2018 in Tel Aviv), with sales beginning in May 2019, and it has a very similar appearance and proportions to the Škoda Rapid Spaceback it succeeds. It is based on a stretched version of the MQB A0 platform that underpins the Volkswagen Polo and SEAT Ibiza, so it has C-segment dimensions on a B-segment platform, with a 2,649 mm wheelbase 12 mm longer than the Volkswagen Golf's; the cheaper A0 platform also meant torsion beam rear suspension. It is the first Škoda with a constant internet connection through a built-in SIM, and offers a Sport Chassis Control with two suspension tunings. A facelift was unveiled in August 2023 alongside the Kamiq, with redesigned front and rear fascias, matrix LED headlights and new interior features. The Scala launched with a diesel engine available, but this was dropped in 2020.

Owning one
We don’t estimate running costs for a car like this. What it costs depends on its condition, its specialist and how it is driven, and an average would mislead.
