FactA 1998 J.D. Power survey gave Škoda its Best Manufacturer award off the back of the Felicia, ending the brand's reputation for unreliability in Britain.
Premiered in October 1994 on the Charles Bridge in Prague, the Felicia (Typ 781 and 791) was the last model on Škoda's own platform and one of the first to benefit from the Volkswagen Group takeover: a heavily reworked Favorit with new outer panels, a redesigned front end and a wider range of VW-sourced engines, and the first diesel Škoda. The hatchback went into serial production in October 1994, the Combi estate (replacing the Favorit-based Forman) in June 1995 and the pick-up in August 1995, with a Vanplus panel van and a "Fun" lifestyle pick-up; the Pickup was also sold as the Volkswagen Caddy. A minor facelift came in January 1998. In April 1998 its high satisfaction score gave Škoda the "Best Manufacturer" accolade in the J.D. Power Car Survey, which helped end the brand's crude, unreliable reputation in Britain (76,000 were sold there). The 1.6 model was the homologation basis for the Felicia Kit Car in the WRC's F2 class. Production ended in June 2001, a year after the Fabia launched, at 1,420,489 cars including 19,000 rebranded pick-ups sold as Volkswagens.

Owning one
We don’t estimate running costs for a car like this. What it costs depends on its condition, its specialist and how it is driven, and an average would mislead.
