FactMyvi stands for My Vehicle, My Vision and Malaysian Vision, and the name outsold every other Perodua ever built.
The Perodua Myvi, launched 25 May 2005 as Perodua's first B-segment hatchback (previously an A-segment-only maker of Daihatsu-kei-car-based cars), was heavily based on the first-generation Daihatsu Boon/Sirion (also Toyota Passo, Subaru Justy); the Myvi became Malaysia's best-selling car for nine consecutive years (2006-2014, and again 2018-2022) and had sold 1.487 million units by the end of 2024, Perodua's best-selling nameplate. Its name blends 'My Vehicle', 'My Vision' and 'Malaysian Vision'. Engines: a 1.0-litre EJ-VE three-cylinder or a 1.3-litre K3-VE four-cylinder, with 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic.
