FactUnder new European badges this is the same Volt, built on the same Detroit-Hamtramck line.
The European badge of the first-generation Chevrolet Volt, on GM's Delta II platform: a five-door liftback with a 1.4 L gasoline range-extender engine and twin permanent-magnet electric motors through a 1-speed Voltec transaxle (GM's E-REV/Voltec system), 16.0 kWh lithium-ion battery, 35 mi EPA electric range and 380 mi EPA total range. Became available to retail customers in Europe in February 2012, with styling changes from the Volt to the doors, fenders, hood and interior; the right-hand-drive Vauxhall Ampera followed for the UK in May 2012, and the Holden Volt (Australia) in December 2012 — the same car under three more badges, not filed separately here. Built alongside the Volt at GM's Detroit/Hamtramck plant.

Owning one
