FactPanama's Manuel Noriega rode in a Nissan Civilian fitted with a TV, a restroom and a kitchenette.
The second-generation Civilian microbus replaced the GC340 in August 1982, larger in both standard and long bodies and sharing most of its major components with the Atlas truck. It launched with ED33 and SD33 diesels and a Z22 petrol engine; an FD33T turbo diesel with the line's only six-speed manual followed in 1984. The 1988 facelift brought the 4.2-litre TD42 straight-six and dropped petrol, the ED35 replaced the ED33 in 1990, and a TD42T turbo with an automatic option arrived in 1995.
