The first Nissan Dayz is the Nissan-badged third-generation Mitsubishi eK Wagon, built by Mitsubishi from June 2013. The sportier eK Custom was sold as the Dayz Highway Star. It used Mitsubishi's 658 cc 3B20 three-cylinder, naturally aspirated or turbocharged, with a CVT. The Dayz was facelifted on 23 October 2015, adding an Autech Bolero version with a chrome grille. It was among the models caught up in Mitsubishi's 2016 fuel-economy testing scandal.
