FactIts ASC McLaren spinoff began when an engineer's wife, a Ford employee, was barred from parking her own Mercedes-Benz SL at work, so he built her a convertible.
For the 1979 model year Lincoln-Mercury ended captive imports of the European Ford Capri and created a Mercury counterpart of the new Fox-platform Ford Mustang, the first Mercury pony car since the 1970 Cougar. Built at Dearborn and, until 1981, San Jose, it was a two-door hatchback. Engines ran from 2.3 litre fours, including a turbo, through 2.8 V6, 3.3 six and 3.8 V6 to 4.2 and 5.0 litre V8s, the last as the 5.0 HO.

We don’t estimate running costs for a car like this. What it costs depends on its condition, its specialist and how it is driven, and an average would mislead.
