FactThe EQS launched with a 0.20 drag coefficient, the slipperiest shape of any production car at the time.
The EQS (V297) is a battery electric full-size luxury liftback built at Sindelfingen since May 2021, previewed by the Vision EQS at the 2019 IAA and debuting in production form on 15 April 2021. It was the first EQ model on the dedicated EVA electric platform, with a drag coefficient as low as 0.20, the lowest of any production car at its introduction; high-end versions carry the MBUX Hyperscreen. Facelifts followed on 10 April 2024 (larger batteries) and 14 April 2026 (800-volt architecture). The AMG EQS 53 is a separate model.
