The Kia Stonic (YB CUV; Kia KX1 in China; the name is derived from "speedy" and "tonic") is a B-segment subcompact crossover hatchback manufactured by Kia since 2017, debuting at the 2017 International Motor Show Germany (Frankfurt on 20 June, South Korea on 13 July, on sale in the fourth quarter), the smallest in Kia's SUV line-up below the Niro, Sportage and Sorento, sharing its platform and interior with the fourth-generation Rio. It was offered with a turbocharged 1.0-litre three-cylinder, a 1.2-litre four, a 1.4-litre four and a 1.6-litre CRDi diesel four (with a 48-volt mild-hybrid EcoDynamics+ from 2020: non-hybrid 74 kW / 99 hp and 172 N·m, mild hybrid 85 kW / 114 hp, 88 kW / 118 hp planned for 2026), with 5- or 6-speed manuals, 6-speed automatic, 7-speed DCT or CVT. It was discontinued in South Korea in September 2020 because of sluggish sales; production moved from Gwangmyeong to Donghee at Seosan in 2023, the facelifted model has been assembled in Pakistan since November 2021 in EX and EX+ variants with the 1.4 and a 6-speed automatic, and the Chinese KX1 has a single 1.4-litre petrol of 100 hp.
