FactThis cheap little EV, sold as the Xingyuan in China, outsold every other car there in 2025.
The Geely EX2, sold in China as the Geely Xingyuan, in Europe and South Africa as the Geely E2 and by Proton as the eMas 5, is a battery electric subcompact (B-segment) hatchback introduced in September 2024 on Geely's GEA platform. It has a single rear motor and CATL or Gotion LFP batteries, and targets young first-time buyers against the BYD Seagull and Dolphin. In 2025 the Xingyuan was the best-selling car of any kind in China. It is built in Xiangtan, China, and assembled in Indonesia, Malaysia, Brazil and Belarus.
