FactToyota rebranded this car as the Duet to replace its own Corolla II, rather than design a new subcompact from scratch.
The Daihatsu Storia is a subcompact car produced by Daihatsu between 1998 and 2005, effectively replacing the Charade, which was produced alongside it for a year. It was also sold as the Toyota Duet in Japan, replacing the Corolla II, and in international markets, with a few exceptions, as the first-generation Daihatsu Sirion. The Storia/Sirion was presented as the NCX concept car at the 1997 Tokyo Motor Show, with a retro-inspired design with chrome features. The first change came in 2000 with new DVVT engines, including a 1300 cc one, and minor restyling, rolled out in Japan in May 2000. The Storia X4 carried a 713 cc JC-DET turbo four-cylinder producing 118 hp.

Owning one
We don’t estimate running costs for a car like this. What it costs depends on its condition, its specialist and how it is driven, and an average would mislead.
