A three-door supermini made by Citroën at Aulnay from August 2003 until October 2009, designed by Donato Coco. Together with the C3 it replaced the popular but ageing Saxo, keeping the C3's dashboard but with flatter styling and a "young driver" image. Euro NCAP gave it four of five stars against the Saxo's two, and it was named "Best European Hatchback of 2003" in September 2003, but it was seen as a victim of poor advertising. The Furio, VTR and VTS continued the sports models that made the Saxo an affordable "pocket rocket": the VTR had a 103 PS engine and the VTS a 118 PS engine that took it to 100 km/h in 8.0 seconds, tuned to be insurance-friendly. A limited GT of 2,500 was made exclusively for the UK from September 2004, there were small revisions in 2006, and the C2 was replaced by the DS3 in January 2010.

Owning one
We don’t estimate running costs for a car like this. What it costs depends on its condition, its specialist and how it is driven, and an average would mislead.
