FactGM built this MPV in Indonesia for two years then pulled the plant in 2015 once demand couldn't cover the cost of making it there.
The Chevrolet Spin is a mini MPV developed by GM do Brasil (project PM5/PM7, exterior by Matt Noone and interior by Dagoberto Tribia) to replace the Meriva and Zafira in South America, built at São Caetano do Sul since June 2012 and, from February 2013 to June 2015, at GM Indonesia's Bekasi plant for Southeast Asia (production ended over low demand and high manufacturing cost, remaining inventory selling out by May 2016). It rides on the GM Gamma II platform and the wheelbase of the Brazilian Cobalt, with two- or three-row seating arranged in a "theatre" format, 162 L of luggage space behind the third row (553 L with it folded), 710 L in two-row cars and 23 possible seat arrangements. In Brazil it launched in LT and LTZ trims (the LTZ with an optional third row), powered solely by the 1.8-liter EconoFlex making 108 hp and 171 N·m (126 lb·ft) with a 5-speed manual or the 6-speed GF6 automatic from the Cruze; the crossover-inspired Activ trim came in November 2014, with a March 2015 revision for the 2016 model year. Argentina (from March 2013) had LT, LTZ and Activ trims with the 1.8 or a Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre Multijet turbodiesel for the LTZ only. Indonesia (from February 2013) had standard three-row seating and three engines: a 1.2-litre A12XER from Opel (LS and LT, 5-speed manual), a 1.5-litre petrol (all trims, manual or 6-speed automatic) and the 1.3 Multijet turbodiesel making 75 PS and 190 N·m (140 lb·ft) with a 5-speed manual, plus an Activ trim from April 2014; Thailand (April 2013, LTZ 1.5 automatic only) and the Philippines (July 2013) were supplied from Indonesia. The first facelift arrived in June 2018 in Argentina and July 2018 in Brazil (trims LS, LT, LTZ and Activ7, LTZ renamed Premier for 2020, stability control and hill-start assist standard for 2021), and a second facelift was shown on 19 January 2024 for the 2025 model year. Wheelbase 103.1 in, length 171.7 in, width 68.3 in, height 65.5 in. The page gives no power for the 1.2 and 1.5, and no figures for the Argentine diesel.

Owning one
We don’t estimate running costs for a car like this. What it costs depends on its condition, its specialist and how it is driven, and an average would mislead.

This Presage minivan shares its underlying platform with the Teana sedan and the North American Murano crossover — one architecture doing three very different jobs.

Subaru's family-hauling Exiga got an unlikely STi treatment in 2009 — front spoiler, sport muffler, tighter suspension and a leather Momo wheel — but only 300 were ever built.

YRV stands for Young Recreational Vehicle, a mini MPV built to out-handle its own segment rivals.

The Terraza was Buick's first-ever minivan for the North American market - a badge-engineered cousin of the Chevrolet Uplander, Pontiac Montana SV6, and Saturn Relay.

The restyled 1994 Lumina Minivan quietly made American automotive history: it was the first minivan sold in the US with a power sliding door you could open by remote.

The first-generation Lumina APV minivan was nicknamed the "Dustbuster" by the press for its sharply sloped windshield, which pushed the dashboard far forward of the driver.

Its steeply sloped windshield gave the Lumina APV one of the deepest dashboards ever fitted to a mass-produced car.

The first Presage wasn't really its own car underneath — most of its parts came straight from the Nissan R'nessa, with more shared with its platform twin, the Bassara.
