The Chevrolet Celta, also sold as the Suzuki Fun in Argentina, is a low-cost supermini built by Chevrolet at Gravataí, Brazil, for the Latin American market between 2000 and 2015 (the page counts 600,000 built at Gravataí, more than 100,000 a year, and 1.5 million by early 2012), based on the Opel Corsa B with design features similar to the Vectra B; a sedan version, the Prisma, arrived in early 2007. It was released in 2000 as a three-door hatchback with a 60 PS 1.0 L gasoline engine; a five-door version followed in 2002, when the power rose to 70 metric horsepower at 6,400 rpm through the same VHC (Very High Compression) technology as the Latin American Corsa C, and an 85 PS 1.4 L gasoline engine was added in 2003. In 2005 the 1.0 became a gasoline-ethanol flex-fuel engine (an "Off-Road" accessories kit was sold that year), the car was facelifted in 2006 and again in 2011, and in 2009 the 1.0 VHC-E FlexPower gave 77 PS on petrol and 78 PS on alcohol (the page's Prisma section states the same ratings as 77 hp and 78 hp, which is what is entered). The page's engine changes are: 1.0 MPFI (60 PS) to 1.0 VHC (70 PS) in 2002, to VHC FlexPower in 2005 and to VHC-E FlexPower in 2009, with the 1.4 MPFI said to stop in 2007 (though it adds that Uruguayan cars with the 1.4 were still being made in 2011). The maximum torque of the 1.0 is 88 N·m at 3000 rpm, and the weight is about 850 kg. Latin NCAP rated the no-airbag Celta one star for adult occupants and two for children in 2011. In 2015 the Celta was discontinued to increase production capacity at the Gravataí plant and was replaced by the Onix and Prisma. Wheelbase 96.3 in, hatchback length 147.6 in, width 63.4 in, height 56.3 in.
