The Alpine A290 (model code A5E) is the high-performance Alpine version of the Renault 5 E-Tech, built alongside it at Renault ElectriCity in Douai since 2024. It keeps the front-motor, front-wheel-drive layout on the AmpR Small platform but with a wider track. The production car was unveiled on 13 June 2024 before the 24 Hours of Le Mans, identical in design to the A290_β concept of May 2023. The GT Premium has a 130 kW motor and the GTS a 160 kW motor from the Mégane E-Tech, with a 52 kWh battery.
