The Alfa Romeo 146 (Type 930B) is a five-door small family car produced by Alfa Romeo from 1995 to 2000, launched to replace the Alfa Romeo 33; work on the 146, derived from and sold alongside the 145, began in April 1992, and with its more traditional Alfa Romeo style it was aimed at the outgoing 33's clientele. The 145 and 146 share exterior and interior components from the B-pillar forwards. It premiered in November 1994 at the Bologna Motor Show and went on sale in May 1995, and 233,295 146s were built. The two-litre 146 ti with the 16-valve Twin Spark from the 155 went on sale in February 1996 with painted side skirts, a boot spoiler and twelve-hole alloy wheels, and two-litre cars had stiffer suspension, an uprated all-disc braking system, ABS, wider lower-profile tyres and "quick rack" direct steering. The engine range and updates followed the 145: the boxers gave way to Twin Spark 16-valve engines from January 1997, the Junior trim was added in September 1997, and the 1999 restyle brought the 1.9 JTD, with the 146 superseded by the 147 in 2000.

Owning one
We don’t estimate running costs for a car like this. What it costs depends on its condition, its specialist and how it is driven, and an average would mislead.
