When Sweden stopped building this S90 in 2017, Volvo didn't put it on a boat: cars built in China reached European buyers by train instead.

For its final 1997-1998 run, the 960-derived S90 got a quietly detuned six-cylinder, built by fitting milder camshafts borrowed from the outgoing 2.5-liter engine.
