When the 3.9-litre V6 became the only engine in 2007, the SV6 lost its all-wheel drive, which could not handle the torque.

When the restyled Montana SV6 arrived for 2005, Pontiac kept building the old-shape Montana alongside it for one more year, selling it only to fleet buyers.

Montana started as a trim package on the Trans Sport, took over 80% of its sales, and Pontiac renamed the whole van after it.
