Maserati named its last and most powerful Quattroporte trim 'Trofeo' — Italian for trophy — introducing it in 2021, just two years before the whole generation bowed out.

This Quattroporte's V6 had an all-American childhood before it ever saw Italy — Chrysler cast and machined the blocks to Ferrari's spec in Indiana and Michigan, then shipped them to Modena for final assembly.

This Quattroporte generation even worked funerals: one was used as the hearse at the 2010 state funeral of Polish president Lech Kaczynski.

Maserati's ultra-luxury Royale version of the Quattroporte III was meant to be a 120-car limited run — but when the line finally closed in 1990, only 53 had actually been built.
