Iso's hotter IR 340 was always the rare one: of the roughly 964 Rivolta grand tourers built before production ended, only 167 got the 340hp engine.

The IR 300 paired Italian design — Bertone, sketched by a young Giorgetto Giugiaro — with a V8 borrowed straight from the Chevrolet Corvette, and took its model number from that engine's horsepower.
