For the 2023 model year, Honda quietly dropped the front-wheel-drive option entirely — every Passport built from then on came standard with all-wheel drive.
This revived Passport broke with every Honda Passport before it — the earlier versions were rebadged Isuzus, but this one was actually designed in America and is built in Alabama.
The first Honda Passport wasn't a Honda design at all: it was a rebadged Isuzu Rodeo, built through partnership rather than in-house.
