The first third-gen Expedition off the line in 2007 wasn't sold — Ford gave it away on "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," months before it hit showrooms.
It was the first full-size SUV with fully independent suspension, a purpose-built version of the long-travel suspensions on desert off-road race trucks.
