Dodge replaced every Intrepid engine with new all-aluminum V6s for 1998, built at its own Mack Avenue foundry.

The Intrepid was one of the original 1993 Chrysler 'cab-forward' LH-platform sedans designed with the front wheels pushed toward the front bumper to maximize interior space.

Every Intrepid came with dual airbags and a four-speed automatic in 1993, when both were still rare on mainstream sedans.
