The Hongqi S9 is a hybrid sports car from FAW Group's Hongqi, shown as a concept at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show to mark 70 years of the People's Republic of China. FAW built it in Italy's Emilia-Romagna region through its Silk-FAW joint venture, with styling led by former Alfa Romeo, SEAT and Audi designer Walter de Silva, and the production car appeared at Auto Shanghai 2021. A 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 works with three electric motors for 1,381 hp. 99 were produced between 2021 and 2023.

Japanese buyers got a secret weapon in their MX-6 — the JDM-only KL-ZE V6 made about 40 more horsepower than the engine sold in the exact same car in North America.

An American tuner, Callaway Cars, built twin-turbo conversions of the GTV6 that boosted its V6 by fifty percent to 230 hp — turning Alfa's grand tourer into something far quicker than the factory ever intended.
