The Dodge La Femme is a full-sized automobile produced by Dodge in 1955 and 1956 as an option package ($143) on the Dodge Custom Royal Lancer two-door hardtop, specifically designed for women after Chrysler's marketing department observed that more women were taking an interest in automobiles (stemming from two 1954 Chrysler Newport hardtop show cars with clear plastic roofs, Le Comte and La Comtesse, the latter painted "Dusty Rose" and "Pigeon Grey"). The 1955 La Femme was a "spring special" painted "Sapphire White" and "Heather Rose" with gold "La Femme" fender scripts, a special tapestry interior with pink rosebuds and pale pink vinyl trim, and a keystone-shaped pink calfskin purse stowed behind the passenger seat with a coordinated set of accessories (face-powder compact, lipstick case, cigarette case, comb, lighter and change purse by Evans Case Company) and a raincoat, rain bonnet and umbrella behind the driver's seat. The 1956 car had Misty Orchid and Regal Orchid colors and "La Femme"-only seat patterns (heavy white cloth with lavender and purple loops), with a rain cap, raincoat and umbrella but no purse. Dodge dropped it for 1957; total production was never broken out from Dodge's numbers but research suggests fewer than 2,500 over the two years (at least 40 known examples of the 1955 version and over 20 of the 1956, including at least 3 with the D-500 engine). It rode a 120 in wheelbase, 212 in long, with a V8.

Owning one
We don’t estimate running costs for a car like this. What it costs depends on its condition, its specialist and how it is driven, and an average would mislead.
