Oldsmobile's 1950 Seventy-Six Holiday hardtop — a steel roof welded onto the convertible body — was the only time the brand ever paired its upscale hardtop styling with a plain six-cylinder engine, and barely 538 were sold.

To mark the company's 44th anniversary, Oldsmobile's limited-production 1942 cars — including the Dynamic Cruiser — wore a tiny "B-44" badge on the grille.

This Series 70 arrived right as Oldsmobile debuted the Hydramatic — the industry’s first fully clutchless automatic transmission.
