Nissan discontinued the Quest after a single model year for 2011 due to slow sales, then relaunched a redesigned version for 2012.

The third-gen Quest looked so European that reviewers compared its shape to the Renault Espace — ironic, given Renault would soon own a piece of Nissan.

Nissan quietly beat Honda to a minivan milestone: the second-gen Quest made dual sliding doors standard across the whole lineup a full month before the Odyssey did.

For a brief spell this American-built minivan was sold in Japan still fitted with its left-hand drive - a rare reversal of the usual import conversion.
