The pioneering EV that popularized CHAdeMO now plugs into its old rival's network: the third-gen Leaf is the first Nissan built to charge at Tesla Superchargers.

Nissan turned its own Leaf into a disaster-response vehicle — the 2020 RE-LEAF concept, built on the Leaf e+, swapped the rear seats for a fold-out workstation and powered emergency equipment straight from its battery.

Before the production Leaf existed, Nissan quietly tested the idea by gutting two Cubes and a Tiida and turning them into electric prototypes code-named EV-01, EV-02 and EV-11.
