The sporting 510 S shared its 3.4-litre six with the ordinary 510, just tuned harder and set in a shorter chassis — across the whole 510 line, only around 14,000 cars were ever built.

In 1920, Fiat chopped the 510's chassis and bolted in a bigger engine to create the 510 S, a shorter, quicker sports version built right alongside the family saloon.
