The '71-'72 Brookwood's tailgate vanished on command: the glass slid up into the roof while the lower gate dropped flush below the load floor.
The Brookwood name barely lasted a year — GM retired it after 1961 and renamed its wagons after their own series instead: Biscayne, Bel Air and Impala.
